My Pru University

Prudential wanted a way to engage their employees in their new LMS (Learning Management System), while assuring the learning aligned with strategy from each business unit and the overall talent strategy.

We accomplished this by creating My Pru University and turning the learning process into a competition. Business Units and Managers controlled the curriculum, so the learning was strategically aligned. A point system fed leader boards and drove competition, and a social component helped users see what their colleagues were learning. Employees could earn badges for completing a set of courses and become SME’s for completing multiple sets.

The results were terrific. LMS use went up dramatically, and employees started to see learning as a career advancement tool instead of just a requirement.
