As part of an ongoing mission to create a solution that meets the needs of its users, AdvisorClient includes a robust customer feedback section. We received many requests for two things. The first was a way to see more up-to-date stock price information. The second was a way to customize views for several data grids.

While the engineering team looked at ways to stream the data, I looked at ways to indicate live data in the design. I landed on the visual cues you see below. This solution makes the site appear as though it’s brimming with live information. The idea behind the custom views was to combine the sorting and column manipulation of Microsoft Excel with the added ability to create and save custom views.
